Matchday 8 of the English Premier League features exciting match-ups that are sure to keep every football fan on the edge of their seat.

Manchester United (6-1, 18 points) vs Sunderland (4-3, 12 points)

Manchester United scored a second-half goal against Manchester City to win the bragging rights in the battle of Manchesters. Man United also shut out Stoke City 2-nil. Dimitar Berbatov and John O’Shea provided Man United with one goal each but it was Ryan Giggs’ intelligence that sealed the win for Manchester United. Giggs assisted on both goals and Sir Alex Ferguson acknowledged his importance to the team.

Sunderland won their last game against Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-2. Darren Bent, Michael Turner and Michael Mancienne scored a goal each adn Kenwyne Jones was one short of a hat-trick. Bent assisted on three goals and it sealed the victory for Sunderland.

Manchester United will undoubtedly beat Sunderland and cement their place as number one in the standings.

Chelsea (6-1, 18 points) against Liverpool (5-2, 15 points)

Wigan Athletic beat Chelsea 3-1. Hugo Rodallega, Titus Bramble and Paul Scharner each scored a goal for Wigan Athletic. Only Drogba scored for Liverpool. Nobody predicted the outcome of this game, Chelsea was taken by surprise with Wigan Athletic’s relentless attack and bothersome defense.

Liverpool has now lost two games; against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. But they dominated Hull City in their recent game with a 6-1 victory. Spanish Fernando Torres scored a hat trick, Steven Gerrard and Ryan Babel each scored a goal for Liverpool. They are on a four-game winning streak.

This will be one of the most exciting matches this year. It will be hard to predict the outcome of the match because Drogba and Torres have been so efficient lately but Liverpool will pull out a close victory.

Arsenal (4-2, 12 points) against Blackburn Rovers (2-3-1, 7 points)

The Blackburn Rovers is coming off a win over Aston Villa 2-1. David Dunn and Chris Samba made sure that Blackburn picked up its second win of the season. Samba tied the game and Dunn sealed the game in the penalty box.

Arsenal beat Fulham 1-0. Robin van Persie scored in the second half to seal the win for Arsenal.

Arsenal will dominate Fulham.
