Roger Federer is coming to the Wimbeldon Tennis Championships carrying a trophy he won on his last grand slam the French Open making him win all the grand slam titles putting him at par with the other tennis greats from the past. This is a boost on his confidence. But his winning the French Open title was from playing Robin Soderling which he has played 10 times and has won over him 10 times as well. Had he played Rafael Nadal during the French Open finals the outcome might have been different. Thank’s to Robin Soderling, who ousted the so called King of Clay Rafael Nadal, it became a Federer-Soderling finals at the French Open Tennis Championships. And we all know the result. Roger Federer won. End of that story.
But now it’s back to wimbeldon. A win at wimbeldon not only means a trophy but also a statement that he has redeemed himself, due to his loss last year against the tough Rafael Nadal who happens to be the defending champion in this tennis event. Federer’s mind is set to re-take what he believes should belong to him. The Wimbeldon trophy. Should he face Nadal at the championships once again it will be a test of who really deserves to be the number one in the world. Currently, Rafael Nadal is hailing as number one while trailing him behind on the next spot is Roger Federer as the number two in the world. We would like to see history repeat itself. A Nadal-Federer final at Wimbeldon. That is what we are all hoping for. But Nadal has not warmed up properly for this event. He went straight to his swimming pool right after his loss at the French Open. Does this mean he is too confident that he does not need any preparation for this tough event? Wimbeldon is played on grass while the French Open is played on clay. Very contrasting surfaces.
Its hard to imagine Nadal ignoring any preparation for Wimbeldon. This gives me the impression he could not accept his loss at the French Open against a player he could have easily beat but instead lost in three straight sets upseting his record of most sets won by a player at the French Open ever. Meaning, since his first championship win at the French Open, Nadal never lost a set to anyone on that tournament. Unbelievable. Except when he lost to Robin Soderling. This greatly affected the King Of Clay. He has lost his reign on the kingdom he has ruled for years. The French Open.
Now its a question everyone is asking. Roger Federer wants to re-gain his throne at Wimbeldon. Nadal lost his at the French Open. Nadal has not prepared properly for the Wimbeldon Tennis tournament. Federer is fatigued from the French Open. Its now even. Or is it?
